The client envisioned a unique design that blended two distinct elements: the special features and verses on checkers similar to the immediate resemblance to a Hallmark greeting card and the bold BB logo representing the friend’s brand identity.
However the client wanted the corporation to emulate Versace styles, care had to be taken not to produce an imitation. We needed to find a way to pay homage to the Versace style while maintaining a unique identity for the t-shirt.
Positioning the client’s friend’s BB logo along with the influences we borrowed from Versace, entailed consideration of size, color, and placement.
The client also requested a honeycomb design to be subtly integrated as the recipient loved honey bees. This added another layer of complexity to the design process.
Thorough discussions were made with the client to establish his color perceptions, logo position preference and the overall mood of the T-shirt.
We considered potential uses or reverse integration of the Versace influence, studying numerous layout variations and extensions to depth. The actual designs were drawn and proposed to the client and feedbacks were taken to create perfect models.
We then went through a number of alterations to change the size and the position of the BB logo to better fit, as well as the placement of the honeycomb pattern within the design. We also looked at different blending options for colors to meet the intended look.
The final design involved having the circle with the client’s friend’s BB logo; this logo was design in Versace style, and the glitter copy was added. The circle around them had Brittingham 88 written in gold letters and honeycomb textures were incorporated properly within their design.

The typeface used in “Brittingham 88” was cohesive in the context of the chosen design aesthetic. Very possibly it was a large, semi-cursive type style appropriately distinguished and unchanging as the Versace emblem, yet not unduly to the eye.
The logo was designed with a safe area to ensure proper reproduction on various t-shirt sizes without compromising the design elements.

The text was positioned neatly within the circle and its outer curve matched and aligned well with the surrounding text so that the BB logo and the honeycomb background did not get overshadowed due to the increased brightness.
